Globally there are lots of advancements in ways ICT is used to improve accessibility, timely and best matched health services according to the patients conditions.
With available technology todate, failure to locate a doctor best-matched to your illness, not being able to make an appointment based on doctors availability but also patient’s convenient times and long waiting lines, are all very out-fashioned.
Caring Tanzanians in the diaspora should also be able search and book an appointment for their loved ones at home.
See an example of a doc who has put his profile available and also included clinic times and location:
As a means to keep up to speed with digital health support systems, an initiative called Daktari Konnect is to be launched in Tanzania and East Africa very soon. All disciplines are included, but the phase 1 of the initiative includes doctors/clinicians-vs.-patients interaction.
Therefore, interested doctors/clinicians are invited to register. Currently more than 40 have done so, but before the service is public announced to Tanzanians, qualified doctors must register first:
Registration requires only 4 steps listed below
STEP 1: Go to our web www.daktarikonnect.co.tz
STEP 2: Register [on “I am a Doctor” tab]
STEP 3: Login [username= your valid email address & password emailed to you instantly]
STEP 4: Complete your profile!
Obviously this forum may sound more profitable for those in private clinic, but you are strongly encouraged to also enter your clinic locations and availability times for government hospital too, be it you are seeing fast track patients or normal track. Below is an example of how the site looks like www.daktarikonnect.co.tz/services/Doctors/All/Dar-Es-Salaam
It’s time to get digital. ICT for accessibility of health services. Other providers, please stay tuned!
Best regards,
Support Team
